Special Presentation (Virtual)

A State of Madness is based on the true story of the empathetic psychiatrist who took charge of the state-run mental hospital in the Dominican Republic during the bloody dictatorship of Leonidas Trujillo, revolutionizing patient care and pulling the facility out of horrific conditions. After a group of mental patients escape from Nigüa Psychiatric Hospital, Dr. Antonio Zaglul is appointed new director of the establishment with the purpose of calming down the negative press the institution was generating. As he tries to bring control to the chaos, it will be difficult to tell if madness lives inside or outside the hospital's walls.
